Tell your story by thinking out loud: meet mmhmm’s Questions feature

Communicating your thoughts and ideas through video can be incredibly powerful. It can also be kind of scary. Putting your face and voice on display is an excellent way to connect with an audience and bring nonverbal cues back into the virtual workplace. But the desire to achieve perfection can lead you to create unnecessary pressure on yourself.

As the saying goes, “perfect is the enemy of good.” How often do you find yourself stuck, obsessing over a script or talking points, trying to sound more impressive or cover every possible detail? If you're not careful, the pursuit of perfection can lead to paralysis, and you’ll wind up producing nothing at all.

Here's a secret: your audience isn't expecting perfection. They're interested in you—your thoughts, insights, and most importantly, your authenticity. This is where our Questions feature comes in. You already know what you want to say. With Questions, you can abandon the script and let mmhmm prompt you. It’s like sitting down for an interview with someone who knows how to guide you.

Phil Libin, mmhmm’s CEO, explains it perfectly in this video:

What you get is the real you, talking naturally about your subject. And just like that, the hardest part of your video is done! Each Q&A is a distinct chapter in your video, so you can rearrange them however you want, insert missed points, or overlay visuals to enhance your message.

mmhmm will offer two follow-up questions. Choose one to answer. Repeat this process until you feel like you’re ready to wrap it up. Click “Conclude interview” to finish.

Watch the magic happen

mmhmm divides your video into chapters, adds title card overlays, and trims out silences and mistakes. It even gives your video a title. If you're happy with the results, click Publish to share it with others right away. If you want to make changes, you can move, split, or delete chapters in the Editor, or add overlays to enhance your points visually.
